DAVAO began with two girls in their early twenties who knew this work mattered. After working together in a salon where the beauty industry wasn’t taken seriously, Jess and Luz wanted something different… an environment rooted in intention, respect, and belief in the craft. Hair was never a fallback. It was a choice, and it deserved to be treated as such.
From the beginning, the focus was simple: create a space that felt elevated but comfortable, professional yet deeply human. One built on servant leadership, shared passion, and care, for the work, the people doing it, and the clients trusting it. Over time, DAVAO grew, but the heart remained the same. Today, it’s a place defined by community, consistency, and relationships built over years, not trends.
Why the name Davao? And how do you say it?
Pronounced duh-vay-oh, DAVAO takes its name from a city in the Philippines known for its artistry, spirituality, and deep respect for their craft. There is a strong cultural emphasis on passion, not just for the work itself, but for passing that passion on to future generations. That mindset resonated deeply with us.
